PURPOSE OF THE RETIREE CLUB
The purpose of the CWA Retired Members' Clubs is to bring retirees into an
organization for the betterment of themselves and their union. Clubs
provide retirees with a vehicle to protect and fight for the issues that
affect them as retirees and family members. Through the CWA retiree clubs,
our members are able to speak out with a united voice.
BENEFITS OF MEMBERSHIP TO RETIREES
Retired member clubs are a way to stay connected to the Union for social,
political and mobilization purposes, thus providing retirees with a voice in
matters that affect them. Benefits of membership also include subscriptions
to the CWA News, and Journeys, the quarterly publication exclusively for
members of retiree clubs.
In addition, club members are entitled to participate in the CWA Union
Privilege programs. Among the CWA Union Privilege Program benefits are low
interest rate MasterCard, low cost mail order prescription plan, free and
discounted legal services, travel service, and supplemental term life
insurance.
BENEFITS FOR THE CWA LOCAL
The establishment of the club also provides advantages for the sponsoring
Local. The club provides a wealth of experienced, knowledgeable and
available members for the picket lines, rallies, organizing and legislative
activities.
